Natioanl Road Toll House, La Vale MD
The National Road Tollhouse in La Vale, west of Cumberland, MD. This still stands, but not in such a pastoral setting, as US 40(alternate now) has developed into a commercial strip.
Potomac Panorama
A "Potomac Panorama" somewhere east of Hancock, MD, I'm assuming.
The Narrows, Cumberland MD
"The Narrows" west of Cumberland MD. The water in the snap is Wills Creek.The original National Road bridge in the background still stands-the background bridge is gone, replaced by a newer span, which would be out of this snap(to the east).
The railway on the south side of the road is also gone.
