STILL
in New York along the “Mohican Trail in the Catskill Mountains”. The card was published by “Kingston News Service” |
|
There
are a couple of “Mohican Trails”
one is “The Mohican Trail, |
|
“The
beginning of the Rip Van Winkle Trail near Saugerties, NY.” Actually, according to what I could find from Hope Farm Press; this sounds a LOT like NY 23A-which starts just south of Catskill. |

Not
a road snap, but something I'm very familar with: The Orange Blossom Memorial in Goshen, NY. Change the cars up and shoot this in color and it would be much the same. This is at a bend in NY 207 in Goshen. I get “Orange” for Orange County (after a Dutch noble-William of Orange IIRC) But if you tried to grow oranges around here, most of the time you'd get frozen OJ. |

Willie
was digging the blackberries and cracker berries(?) in Walden NY in July 1931. This shot may be NY 52 west of Walden. It reminds me of Walker Valley west of Pine Bush, truth be told. |

Hotel
Putnam in Beninngton VT. This is at the southwest corner of the US 7 and VT 9 junction. “The Putnam House was built in 1873 by Henry W. Putnam. It contained offices of railway companies and was a gentlemen’s club. During Prohibition the Putnam house was closed after a police raid found illegal alcohol. The Hotel has been used for many different purposes throughout the years, including dorm rooms for Southern Vermont College students” You can see a modern picture here. That's also where I got the above text :) There are also snaps of this junction facing the opposite direction on my Albany Vidcaps page. |

UNITED
STATES POST OFFICE AND FEDERAL BUILDING, SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI “This beautiful building, completed in 1933, is located on Boonville and Central Avenue.” The real star of the show of course, is the spiffy 4-way signal. This was sent along on 24th August 1959. The writer couldn't find any Post Office postcards until this point. |

Trinity
