Snaps taken in May 2k2 and June 2k5.

The Mass Turnpike
Eastbound about a mile past the NY state Line.

Further on, approaching the
mainline toll plaza at jn 1.

A little closer to junction
one here.
You can see a fairly typical
MassPike overcrossing, and the cat's eyes in the road.

Still eastbound from a
maintainence area merge-looking at junction 2.

Sine Salads at the Lee Service plaza and the Lee junction.
Yes, that “90” on the gantry is button copy.
The bottom rank is an image map. Click on a sign for a closeup.
A new window will open, and after yer done, just close the window.
I stole the idea from AA Roads.

Lee Toll Plaza-looking eastbound.
See a MassPike toll ticket HERE

2k5 update of the toll plaza, showing signage changes.
F^st L^ne is now owned by Citizen’s Bank,
and the logo is pretty much history.
A great deal is made about E-ZPass® compatibility.
Here’s a clearer snap of the signage

Signs at the Lee Junction. IH
90, US 20 and MA 102 used to all come together in a tangle.

2k5 signs at the junction, coming from the MASSPIKE off-slip.
The panel sign is unique, not something often seen in MASS.
I have no clue why they didn't include west US 20 in the panel.
The attempt to address this falls a bit short, I'd say...

2k2-The junction of US 20 and MA 102 at Lee.
The map below shows the old junction configuration.

But here in the modern world of tomorrow,
Things have all been sorted out and the junction is less confusing.
The gantry in the 2k2 snap is gone, and the mast-arm signals
have been replaced with a wire-span installation.

Looking north from MA 102 toward the MASSPIKE Entrance with US 20 crossing.
The vantage point is approximately the location of the gantry in the 2k2 snap.

Looking southeast at the US 20 east to MASSPIKE entry slip road.

The only thing that remains of a service station that used to be
inbetween the US 20 slip road embankment and the MASSPIKE.
This would be visible from the freeway if not for the thick vegetation

I'm guessing this sign is at least old enough to drink.
It sure is old enough to retire. This is a nice example of sign rot.
This was on MA 102 south of the junction-I didn't go back to see if it was still there.
Hey, it was getting late and Doug Kerr was driving.
