Josh Childers took a quick trip out of Yakima to take some snaps of what I've always thought was a pretty spiffin® bridge on Interstate 82 between Ellensburg and Yakima. The Fred G. Redmon Bridge over Selah Creek.
Here's his story:
"Well, I
shot some pictures of the bridge for you with a film camera, but I
haven't had the chance to get it developed yet. However,
yesterday I actually thought ahead for once in my life, and borrowed
a digital camera from work just before I left, as I was going to
Ellensburg. When I got to the point where I took the pictures,
there was just barely enough light left to get it. Ten
minutes later and it probably would have been too late.
"Anyway, there are three shots. The first two are of the bridge, and the only difference between them is that in the second shot I waited for a couple of trucks to cross so that were was some size perspective. The third is a shot looking west at the shallower part of the Selah Creek Gorge, looking into the southern end of the Yakima Canyon. It's the very beginning of the "Upper Valley" of the Yakima River. It was taken from the same spot as the bridge, just facing the other direction. The sunset washes it out quite a bit, but you can still see it okay."
Now personally, since I can't run out and grab a camera to take a snap, I'm not complaining :).
