Here are two of the non-interstate freeways in the Buffalo area,
replete with olde-school goodness. Doug Kerr was driving, and his windscreen was dirty.
Deal with it.

Turn off yr poop-up killa.

Leaving IH 190 and heading out on NY 198 eastbound.

Elmwood Avenue Exit.
Mighta been cool to put the cultural stoof in a brown plate.
But this is NY, and they hate doing that.

This is the sign for the northbound off-slip.
Sans cardinal direction, all caps, typical old school.
But wait-It's a newer sine.
Maybe they just wanted to retain the character of the rest of the highway.
Loads of character here in Delaware Park.
You get level junctions, left turns n'at.
Main Street underpass on NY 198
Advance warning for the NY 33 junction on NY 198.
Turning onto NY 33 eastbound.
In ancient times this was also known as the Kensington Expressway.
The overpass belongs to a railway.
Now on NY 33 eastbound at the Fillmore Avenue overpass.
(Twirly Twirly Twirly....)
The Grider Ave overpass.
The rock walls are kinda cool looking.
Coming up on hot freeway-like action here with off-slips flying everywhere.
Also coming up out of the depressed section of NY 33.
US 62 JN eastbound on NY 33.
Fun and amusing SURPRISE Low-Speed off-slip with no deceleration lane.
Hope ya got good braxes!
NYSDOT trucks are gathering on the outside to close off the lane, making life more fun!
