Umm, oops, somehow this page bit the big one. Dunno how it happened.
Oh, well, Here's some snapology from late December 2k3.
POOP-UP Page.
Dolsontown Road was under construction for quite a long time.
Not quite sure what was done, though...
At umm US 209. This junction was in the process of being rebuilt
when this snap was taken.
One of them anyway.
The older sign will be replaced in 2k4.
This is the only guide sign with a County Shield in Sullivan County.
This happens in both directions.
Region 9 also favors “A-B” designations,
rather than cardinal directions.
All Sullivan CH 17X series are parts of old NY 17.
This snap also shows how easy it is to have a world of your own.
Old NY 17 leads to a dead end at the left.
That van at the end of the road has been there practically forever.
Here's a bloke who needs to learn where to park.
This time we have an old button-copy sign with a proper shield.
This snap is historic as most of the rock formation
at the right has been removed.
Oh, Ok, It's IH 84 eastbound approaching the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.
Usually the VMS says something pithy,
But this day it was off.
The signage is NYSDOT, not Thruway(NYSTA).
You get a plethora of turn lanes at this junction,
As well as signalized merges on US 9.
This is near Dutchess Mall.
A dread mall(it's linked above).
this dual carriageway doesn't last.
US 9 Southbound leaves to the right,
US 9 Northbound crosses overhead.
To join US 9, you continue ahead.
Pity the beacon doesn't work.
The junction is Oregon Road(turning left)
Red Mill Road(straight on)
and Westbrook Drive(Turning right.)
The red signal in the foreground is nearly always lit.
NY municipalities could give a fig for the MUTCD.
A nice Combo of CA and Southern style.
Something you'll NEVER see in NY.
They'd put up a Bend sign and be done with it.
Note the small box half-gantry-also not seen in NY.
You're actually headed south-southeast.
